Topic of the Week
Today we discuss the definition of strength training and the benefits it produces. Strength training falls under the foundation of obtaining regular exercise.

The benefits of strength training are:

1. Improves muscle tone, balance, stability and flexibility.

2. Improves posture.

3. Helps prevent osteoporosis.

4. Helps prevent injuries.

5. Decreases musculoskeletal pain, such as, knee and back pain.

6. Decreases body fat.

7. Improves the state of mind.

8. Helps lower blood pressure, lowers the risk of diabetes, heart disease and cancer.

Strength training should definitely be a component of everyone’s exercise routine for a healthy lifestyle.

On Friday’s show, we will discuss some safety guidelines and common myths associated with strength training. I can hardly wait to continue our conversation. So, tune in and enjoy the shows.
